The LSI offers a six- to twelve-month sabbatical opportunity for external (non-U-M) applicants to utilize our cutting-edge cores and resources. The goal of this program is to expand access to our cores while fostering collaborative relationships between LSI scientists and external researchers.
Visiting scientists selected for this program receive a credit of up to $100,000 to be used within the respective LSI core(s) in support of the LSI scientist's and visiting collaborator’s research project. Any visiting collaborator from industry will need to pay for the costs of the use of the LSI cores.
Applicants may request office and research space, pending availability in the LSI. Please note: the LSI does not provide any salary or benefits coverage during the sabbatical. Applicants must be from academic or research institutions (professorial ranks or equivalent thereof) or industry. International researchers are eligible to apply.
