Rosenberg and Xu Receive Prestigious Fellowship
February 22, 2006, ANN ARBOR, Mich--- LSI Research Assistant Professors Noah Rosenberg and Shawn Xu were among five recipients at UM honored with Sloan Research Fellowships.
These awards from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation are intended to enhance the careers of the very best young faculty members in specified fields of science. Currently a total of 116 fellowships are awarded annually in seven fields: chemistry, computational and evolutionary molecular biology, computer science, economics, mathematics, neuroscience, and physics.
Rosenberg is also assistant professor in the Bioinformatics Program in the Rackham School of Graduate Studies and the Department of Human Genetics in the Medical School. Xu is also assistant professor in the Department. of Molecular & Integrative Physiology in the Medical School.
The other UM recipients are Anna C. Gilbert, Mathematics; Jennifer Ogilvie, Physics; and Melanie S. Sanford, Chemistry.
