I am currently working on the compartmentalization of PI3 kinase-independent signaling pathway that regulates insulin stimulated Glut4 translocation. Caveolae is a subset of lipid rafts existing most abundantly on the plasma membrane of adipocytes. It serves as a platform of specific signaling molecules, including CAP and TC10. It also plays a crucial role on actin cable arrangement. I am studying the interplay between insulin signaling and cytoskeleton rearrangement initiating from caveolae.
