Matthews Elected to American Academy of Arts and Sciences
May 2, 2005 - The prestigious American Academy of Arts and Sciences recently announced Senior Research Professor Rowena Matthews as part of their 225th class. Individuals are selected from various disciplines, including the biological and physical sciences, arts and humanities, social sciences, public affairs, and business, after making significant contributions in their area of study and to society in general.
Rowena Matthews Elected to the Institute of Medicine
Oct. 18, 2004 - LSI Research Professor Rowena Matthews was inducted into the prestigious Institute of Medicine, the second LSI faculty member to receive this honor after David Ginsburg in 1999. Prof. Matthews is Greenberg professor of biological chemistry and a member of the National Academy of Sciences. The Institute of Medicine is an independent scienific organization which seeks to improve health worldwide.
