Driving Directions
Public Parking is now available in the Palmer Drive Parking Structure. The visitor's entrance is on the west end of the parking ramp, at the end of Palmer Drive. There is a parking fee to enter this lot. The elevator and stairway up to the Plaza Level are at the eastern end of the parking ramp, closest to Washtenaw Ave.
Additional public parking is available a short walk away from the LSI. (get map)
Public structure on Maynard at William
Cut through Nickels Arcade, and walk East four blocks on North University Street to the Exhibit Museums, then follow the walking directions below.
Public structure on Forest at South University
Walk North on Forest one block, west on South University one block, North on Church Street one block to the Exhibit Museums, then follow the walking directions below.
U-M Blue and Gold Parking
Enter the Palmer Drive Parking Structure, located on Palmer Drive, just off of Washtenaw Ave. Please note that the Palmer Structure has been updated to gate-controlled access and all vehicles must have an AVI device to enter.

Pedestrian Access
From North University Ave. (Exhibit Museums)
You may access the LSI by the bridge connecting central campus to the medical campus. This is located at North University Ave., adjacent to the Chemistry Building and Dental School. As you cross the bridge, the Life Sciences Institute is the first large building on the right, and visitor access is on the far end. On the left is the new Undergraduate Science Building, and across from the main entrance to the LSI is Palmer Commons.
From the Medical Center
Take the pedestrian bridge at Zina Pitcher Drive across Washtenaw Ave. and proceed past Palmer Commons to the front door of the LSI.
From Washtenaw Ave.
Take the staircase up from street level to plaza level. The entrance is immediately on your left.
Wheelchair access
Follow the pedestrian walkway described above to the West end of the building (nearest Dental School) and call 763-1200 to have someone meet you at the door.
